In Mariners news…
- Rumors swirled yesterday that the Mariners and Red Sox were deep in trade negotiations that would have sent right-hander Luis Castillo to Boston for Triston Casas. However, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe quickly shot down any suggestions that a deal was close.
- The M’s are, however, expected to finalize a deal with first baseman Carlos Santana in the next week or so.

- The Red Sox got their ace, acquiring left-hander Garrett Crochet from the White Sox in exchange for four-player prospect package.
- The Rangers added to their bullpen depth, signing right-hander Jacob Webb to a one-year contract.
- The Brewers agreed to a one-year deal with lefty reliever Grant Wolfram.
- Jonathan Loáisiga is returning to the Bronx on a one-year contract.

- Cleveland Guardians radio announcer Tom Hamilton was named the winner of the 2025 Ford C. Frick Award, presented by the National Baseball Hall of Fame to one broadcaster each year.
