- Adam Jude at The Seattle Times reports that Ichiro is expected to play a role in the Mariners’ all-in efforts to woo Japanese right-hander Rōki Sasaki.

- The Yankees signed their first consolation prize of the offseason, agreeing to an eight-year deal with left-hander Max Fried to make him the highest-paid southpaw in league history.
- The Rangers are bringing back veteran right-hander Nathan Eovaldi on a three-year contract.
- The Blue Jays appear to be all-in for 2025, acquiring Gold Glove second baseman Andrés Giménez and right-handed reliever Nick Sandlin from the Guardians in exchange for infielder Spencer Horowitz and outfield prospect Nick Mitchell.
- The Guardians then flipped Horowitz to the Pirates for a trio of players.
- The Rangers have acquired slugging corner infielder Jake Burger from the Marlins for a three-player prospect package.
- The Rockies have agreed to a one-year pact with infielder Thairo Estrada.
- Righty reliever Yimi García is returning to the Jays on a two-year deal after spending the second half of 2024 with Seattle.
- Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado, who has a full no-trade clause in his contract, is reportedly willing to approve a trade to any of the Angels, Dodgers, Padres, Mets, Phillies, and Red Sox.

- If Seiya Suzuki insists on playing the outfield, that makes him a pretty difficult fit for the Mariners.
