Around the league…
- The Angels have acquired former top prospect Scott Kingery in a deal with the Phillies.
- Blake Snell opted out of his deal with the Giants, making him a free agent for the second winter in a row.
- Alden González at ESPN wrote about how this World Series for the Dodgers quieted Dave Roberts’ haters and may have sealed his spot in the Hall of Fame.
- Mike Petriello attempted to predict which players would receive (and which would accept) a qualifying offer this offseason.
- The city of St. Petersburg, Florida approved $6 million to waterproof Tropicana Field to prevent future destruction from storms.
- Clayton Kershaw’s comeback attempt just got a little bit more complicated.
Clayton Kershaw will undergo two surgeries on Wednesday he said.
One, to address his toe — there’s more damage than the bone spurs, including a ruptured plantar plate.
The second, to repair the meniscus in his left knee.
