After losing a tough one yesterday where their starter had a short and ineffective outing, the Mariners turn to Bryce Miller and hope to get a similar offensive effort from their lineup while keeping the other team off the board better.

News:
The Mariners optioned Gregory Santos to Triple-A today after a tough appearance last night. RHP Will Klein has been called up in his place.
The Mariners are hoping that a trip to Tacoma will help Santos find the zone more consistently, after he struggled mightily with that in his outings so far this season. “We talk a lot here about dominating the zone and getting ahead, and just finding some consistency there for him,” said Dan Wilson. “He’s got great stuff, and being able to consistently find the zone with it, that’s going to be key for him.”
Captain’s Log:
Dan Wilson on Dylan Moore’s two-homer night:
“Big night for DMo yesterday…He’s made a lot of adjustments, for sure. We’ve talked a lot about the middle of the field, and he’s certainly made those adjustments and continues to do that…Last night he was able to get a couple of pitches he was able to drive, and that’s the beauty of that middle of the field approach, you’ll catch the off-speed out front a little more and able to hit the hard stuff the other way…He’s swung the bat really well.”
