The Mariners finally face a pitcher who’s never won a Cy Young
As much as I want to be encouraged by the Mariners offense collecting seven hits and six walks while striking out just five times, I’m itching to get the taste of last night’s game out of my mouth. Maybe Bryan Woo will help. He’ll have his work cut out for him, as the Giants are pretty good against fastballs.
On the hill for San Francisco will be Jordan Hicks, who didn’t have much success in 2024, his first year after converting from the bullpen, but who did have an excellent first outing of 2025 on Monday.
Lineups

Jorge Polanco is out of the lineup for a second day in a row, after returning from the Paternity List on Friday. It’s unclear what’s going on there. But with Dylan Moore (interviewed for today’s Sunday Notes over at FG) off to a hot start, maybe that’ll be OK. And Luke Raley gets the start at first base despite Tellez being in the lineup.
