Baseball has sprung in spring, and now thrice will ring, but it’s still just practice today against the Snakes.
There are certainly a lot of known truths about Spring Training, and it is indeed very easy to stick to the cliches, so I hold no ill will against Zach Mason for his level-headed rationalization of the winding up of the baseball season. In fact, I agree with his refreshing take that spring baseball can be about the joys between, and maybe they don’t have to matter much. Today I am irrationally excited for an Emerson Hancock start. In fact, there is something about the fact that none of it mattering in a month that makes it particularly freeing. Today, it’s just about baseball.
Lineups:
Backing up Emerson’s start on the mound will be J.P. Crawford leading off, with Julio and Cal behind him, and Randy Arozarena in clean-up. Mitch Garver gets his first catcher start of spring, and Canzone and Locklear make their second start at right field and first base, respectively. Bliss gets his second start at the base of the same name, and making his first start at third base is Ben Williamson, who is my personal favorite NRI to watch in today’s game.
Pitching staff scheduled to follow up Hancock include Luis F. Castillo, Eduard Bazardo, Josh Fleming, Shintaro Fujinami, Dauris Valdez, and Adonis Medina.
