split squad day!
The Mariners are playing their first set of split-squad of 2025 Spring Training today, with a home game against the San Francisco Giants and an away game against the Texas Rangers. We’ll take ‘em one at a time here as despite how much I enjoy Christopher Nolan movies, I’m not much of a non-linear storyteller.

Seattle Mariners
The “main” game of today is in Peoria where the M’s will be taking on the Giants. Bryce Miller will start on the mound, with a lineup headlined by Victor Robles and Julio Rodríguez. Probable following pitchers are Casey Legumina, Cody Bolton, Eduard Bazardo, Shintaro Fujinami, and Josh Fleming.
The Giants game starts at 12:10pm and is available to watch as a webcast on Mariners.com and to listen on Seattle Sports 710AM with Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr. on the call.

Meanwhile, Jhonathan Díaz is taking the bump over in the Texas game. Díaz has a lineup that has a few more bona fide major leaguers, led by J.P. Crawford and Randy Arozarena. Probable pitchers after Díaz are Blas Castano, Casey Lawrence, and Phillips Valdez.
The Texas game starts at 12:05pm and is only available as a radio broadcast accessible from MLB.com
