Geno Smith had a great game, statistically and financially.
Well, here we are in a “worthless” week 18 game in which one team is into the playoffs and one is not. Unfortunately, the Seattle Seahawks are not. And it turns out it doesn’t matter for our draft position. The Seattle Seahawks will pick at No. 18 in April, no matter the game’s outcome. But I agree with Coach Macdonald and would love to build a winning culture and destroy these Los Angeles Rams. There’s always something to play for, especially if you’re Geno Smith.
So, without further ado, here are your final Seattle Seahawks highlights for the 2024 season, a 30-25 win over Los Angeles.

Tyrice Knight slips in to sack Jimmy Garoppolo in an unrequited welcome back to starting rotation celebration. The Rams punt. No points yet.
An explosive play for Noah Fant!

Geno lines one up along the left sideline, and Noah Fant does the rest.
Geno Smith to Jake (middle name ‘More’) Bobo for a touchdown!

Two plays after the huge 32-yard catch and run to Noah Fant, Geno throws it up to Jake Bobo in the end zone, and he wrestles it away from Cobie Durant for the Seahawks’s first touchdown since week 16. Will Bobo move up to WR3 next year? Who knows, but heck if I wouldn’t love to see him make a case for it. 7-0 Seahawks with 5:00 to go in the first quarter.
It’s a 20-yard strike to DK Metcalf – right in the middle – for the second Seahawks touchdown.

What are the Seahawks trying to tell us in that caption? Geno to DK for 22 yards, Geno to DK again – and it’s aaaaaaalmost a touchdown – the ball bounces just off his fingertips. Then it’s a flip to Jaxon Smith-Njigba for four yards, before Geno scrambles up in the pocket and throws a dime right back to DK Metcalf for a 20-yard touchdown smack dab in the center of the endzone. The Hawks score on consecutive drives to make it 14-3 Seahawks at the top of the second quarter.

Eh, it’s the last game of the season, why not celebrate it a little?
On third and seven, Julian Love decided that he’d had just about enough of Jimmy Garoppolo’s rising comfort as a starter and plucked one right out of the air. The pass was intended for Tyler Johnson, who aided in the tackle. The Seahawks get the ball back right above the two-minute warning. After an earlier Rams touchdown and Seahawks field goal, it’s 17-10 Seahawks nearing the half.
Blah. The Rams kick a 58-yard field goal, but the Seahawks are still ahead. 17-13 Seahawks at the half.
And Leonard Williams claws Jimmy Garoppolo down for a sack!
That’s sacks this year for @leonardwilliams. pic.twitter.com/EMLPHW5Onr

That’s double-digit sacks for Leonard Williams this year… the guy that didn’t make the Pro Bowl. He’s a bad, bad man. And he’s ours. We’re happy to keep him a secret.

AJ Barner – right place, right time
Barner for six! pic.twitter.com/IjYCw9Cn7f
— Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) January 5, 2025
Nearing the end of the third quarter, Geno Smith ignites a little vintage Russell Wilson magic while shimmying around Rams defenders and finds AJ Barner in perfect position to score. 24-16 Seahawks with three minutes left in the third quarter.
Yowch! Noah Fant scorpions in for a touchdown
That’s one way to score.
Touchdown @nrfant! pic.twitter.com/Oa6MM84Fc1

A visibly hobbled Geno Smith manages to smack it down the middle to Noah Fant, who jumps up and lands on top of Jaylen McCollough… who then slides out from under him – sending Fant back onto his neck with his legs kicked out over him. Fant lands in a perfect scorpion pose and, impressively, holds onto that ball. Kudos, Noah Fant. Now, go take a break. The Seahawks take the lead back. 30-25 Seahawks.

— Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) January 6, 2025
30-25 Seahawks is your final score after the defense holds off Jimmy Garoppolo and the Rams offense in the red zone. Geno Smith had a great game, statistically and financially, with four touchdowns and a six-million-dollar bonus.
That’s a $6 million win for Geno Smith. He hit all of his incentives that were in play today.
And he gets another game-winning drive. Any reasonably good defensive performance and it wouldn’t have been required.
