Keep up to date on the latest news regarding the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator search.
The Seattle Seahawks are in the midst of their third offensive coordinator in as many seasons following the decision to fire Ryan Grubb. Mike Macdonald indicated that prior playcalling experience is not necessarily a requirement for the job, and that there are no plans (for now) to promote from within.
If the Seahawks won’t go in-house for an OC, we might as well create a post dedicated to the ongoing search. This tracker will be updated until the Seahawks have hired a new offensive coordinator. When that will materialize is anyone’s guess. It could be two minutes after this article goes live or two weeks after the Super Bowl. Be patient!
Reported interview requests
Hank Fraley, Detroit Lions offensive line coach. Fraley has never been an offensive coordinator and has never called plays. He has exclusively been an offensive line coach (whether as lead or assistant) in college and the NFL.
Klint Kubiak, New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator. Kubiak has playcalling experience and was also the pass game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers in 2023. He was also Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator in 2021.
Thomas Brown, Chicago Bears interim head coach. Brown was previously Chicago’s passing game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator following Shane Waldron’s firing. When Matt Eberflus was fired, he was named interim head coach. Brown has prior playcalling experience and was offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers in 2023 and the University of Miami in 2016.
