We can add Tyler Lockett to the list of wide receivers who aren’t going anywhere this coming offseason.
According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Lockett is staying with the Seahawks and getting a restructured deal with the team. Per the report, it’s a two-year, $30 million deal with $13 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $34 million.
“#Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett is remaining with Seattle on a restructured deal, source says: Two years, $30 million with a max value of $34 million with nearly $13 million guaranteed this year,” Garafolo wrote.
Lockett had 79 receptions for 894 yards and five touchdowns for the Seahawks this past season. He’s now had six straight seasons with at least 800 receiving yards.
Lockett has also proven to be very durable throughout his career, missing only three games since his 2015 rookie season and playing in 144 games in that span.
Between Lockett, D.K. Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the Seahawks now have a superb wide receiver corps. Throw in tight end Noah Fant and running back Kenneth Walker III and you have a compliment of weapons that can rival almost any team in the NFC.
And with quarterback Geno Smith quickly rising through the ranks of NFL quarterbacks, the Seahawks are in a position to be very good on offense for a very long time.
Will the Seahawks be an even bigger threat in the NFC next season?
