In a shocking turn of events, the Seattle Seahawks have decided to move on from head coach Pete Carroll.
“A shocker in Seattle: Pete Carroll is expected to be out as the Seahawks head coach, per sources. He still could remain in the organization, but not as the head coach,” Schefter said.
Carroll had an incredible run in Seattle, owning a 137-89-1 record from 2010-2023. The highlight of his stint was winning a Super Bowl during the 2013 season.
Jody Allen of the Seahawks confirmed that Carroll will remain with the franchise. He’ll transition to an advisory role.
“After thoughtful meetings and careful consideration for the best interest of the franchise, we have amicably agreed with Pete Carroll that his role will evolve from Head Coach to remain with the organization as an advisor,” Allen said. “Pete is the winningest coach in Seahawks history, brought the city its first Super Bowl title, and created a tremendous impact over the past 14 years on the field and in the community.”

Carroll has not yet commented on this decision. We’d have to imagine it was a tough move on his part.
The Seahawks’ search for a new head coach will now begin. It wouldn’t surprise us if they go with an offensive-minded leader.
