The Seahawks (5-5) are a game behind the Cardinals (6-4) in the NFC West race. Follow Field Gulls’ game coverage here!
The Seattle Seahawks (5-5) are still alive in the grueling NFC West race. After last week’s narrow but needed victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle returns home for a huge matchup with the surprising Arizona Cardinals (6-4).
Seattle ended its six-game losing run against the 49ers, now it must end its four-game home losing streak. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals have been on fire lately, winning four in a row entering their bye week. This will be the Seahawks’ first look at the exciting rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr, while the Cardinals will have a theoretically tougher offense to face than the New York Jets and Chicago Bears.
Last meeting
The Seahawks won 21-20 in Week 18 of the 2023 season, in what proved to be the final game of Pete Carroll’s coaching career. Seattle needed to win to have a shot at the final playoff spot, but unlike 2022, the Green Bay Packers won on the final day to keep the Seahawks out of the postseason.
Kyler Murray’s last appearance at Lumen Field came in 2022 in a 19-9 Seahawks win.
What’s at stake for the Seahawks?
If the Seahawks win and the Los Angeles Rams lose to the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle will reassume the top spot in the NFC West. A loss would put them at 5-6, two games behind the Cardinals, and without a tiebreaker against either them or the Los Angeles Rams.
Odds
The Seahawks are a 1.5-point underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook, with an over/under of 47.5 points.
