The Seahawks defense created almost all the highlights.
Well, the Seattle Seahawks (9-7) showed up at Soldier Field in a more than a must-win situation against the Chicago Bears (4-12) on Thursday Night Football. Last week was the must-win, but we lost to the Vikings. As a result, the Seahawks are not in control of their own playoff destiny.
Even with a win on Thursday, we still need the Rams to lose on Saturday and the Seahawks to win against them the following week in Los Angeles. Well, we won on Thursday. But not because we played well. We won because the Bears didn’t want to. A win is a win, but let’s move past this one sooner rather than later.
If you’re of the demented sort, come back and relive the game with me anyway.
Short of highlights in the first half, here’s a 50-yard field goal from Jason Myers.

Well, it’s been a pretty ugly back-and-forth between the Bad News Chicago Bears and the ‘hapless Hawks, but Jason Myers did hit a pretty impressive three-pointer at the end of the second half. Watch it, I dare you. The Seahawks go up 6-3.
The house of Jarran Reed falls onto Caleb Williams

On third and long, Jarran Reed dumptrucks onto Caleb Williams and flattens his torso. The Bears punt, and the Seahawks hope that their offense can locate a firestarter for the cooling ashes of their souls. It remains 6-3 Bears as the third quarter clicks down.
Hey, look at that, we have another highlight. And another sack. This time by Uchenna Nwosu.

Uchenna Nwosu chased Caleb Williams down at the end of the third quarter and lost him 14 yards. It was a great catch. And it would’ve been even more awesome if absolutely anything at all was happening in this game. Still 6-3 Bears to start the 4th quarter.
Holy hell, Rayshawn Jenkins nabs the sixth (6th!) sack by the Seahawks tonight
We see you, Jenks! pic.twitter.com/GfDNT81pVk

In case you haven’t noticed a theme tonight, it’s sacks. They’re not all highlighted here, but Rayshawn Jenkins nabs the Seahawks’ defense a sixth sack in the fourth quarter tonight. Also, I’m pretty sure Jenkins doesn’t go by “Jenks,” but okay. If the Seahawks social team can get away with calling Uchenna Nwosu “Chen,” then I guess they can get away with calling Rayshawn Jenkins “Jenks.” STILL 6-3 Seahawks in a snoozer of a game (other than the sacks).
And we have a passing highlight! DK Metcalf gets low, gets low, gets low, gets low

Geno gets away from pressure and throws a seam to DK Metcalf downfield. Unfortunately, it was a little bit low, but DK reached his mittens down there and scooped it up without touching the turf. It didn’t matter though. The Seahawks ended up having to punt and it’s still 6-3 Seahawks nearing the end of the 4th quarter.
Riq Woolen intercepts a desperation throw by Caleb Williams

Well, the game ended, and we won. But I’m not entirely sure what happened. The Bears opted to go for it on 4th and 10 from the 40-yard line instead of having Cairo Santos kick a 57-yard field goal. Williams scrambled and bobbled his throw – sending it over mid-field and right into Woolen’s hands. Game over. The Seahawks win, and you guessed the final score: 6-3. Seriously, why are you clicking on a highlight post for a game like this? You should go read a book or something.
The next step is the Rams in Los Angeles. Hopefully, we can manage a touchdown in that one.
