Cornell Powell has spent his entire career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
With the Seattle Seahawks set to return to practice on Wednesday, the team made a couple of practice squad tweaks on Tuesday.
Former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Ryan ‘Bump’ Cooper and ex-Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Cornell Powell are the latest additions to Seattle’s practice squad. In order to make room for those players, cornerback Faion Hicks, who was signed back in August and elevated to the gameday roster twice, and running back Brittain Brown, who was signed in September after Kenneth Walker’s injury, have been let go.
Cooper is a San Francisco Bay Area native whose college football career was split between the College of San Mateo and Oregon State. He went undrafted earlier this year and signed with the Baltimore Ravens, appearing in one regular season game and playing exclusively on special teams. Cooper had otherwise been on the Ravens practice squad all season.
Powell has a couple of Super Bowl rings with the Chiefs after being on their practice squad from 2021 until this season. He’s also a two-time college football national champion after playing five seasons at Clemson. After earning All-ACC third-team honors in 2020, Powell was drafted in the fifth round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Powell only played in three games with the Chiefs, all in 2022, with 28 of his 31 snaps coming on special teams.
Hey, Powell has two Super Bowl rings and two national championships, making him the most prolific winner on the entire team, whether practice squad or active roster!
