Marquise Blair and Artie Burns will be on the gameday roster vs. Denver.
The Seattle Seahawks have made their standard gameday elevations from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 showdown with the Denver Broncos.
Veteran cornerback Artie Burns and safety Marquise Blair will be on the active roster. They’ll each have just two more practice squad elevations before they must be signed to the 53-man roster in order to play any more regular season games.
Burns was a bit of a question mark after being carted off with a toe injury against the Cleveland Browns in the preseason finale. He aggravated that injury in practice last week but evidently it’s not serious enough to prevent him from playing.
Blair has done well to go from out of the NFL in 2023 following a ruptured Achilles to returning to the Seahawks after he was let go in 2022. The 2019 second-round pick’s elevation may be related to the health of starter Rayshawn Jenkins, who has no game designation but was limited in two of the last three practices with a calf injury.
Seattle will need to declare seven players inactive on Sunday, and since Uchenna Nwosu and Pharaoh Brown have already been ruled out, they’ll still need five more. We’ll have info on the inactives about 90 minutes out from kickoff.
