Williams’ availability for Sunday is now in some doubt. As for Lucas? Don’t worry.
It was another day without power for the Seattle Seahawks at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) in Renton. The widespread damage from Tuesday’s “bomb cyclone” has left hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians in the dark, but the Seahawks nevertheless conducted practice on Thursday.
The news that will draw the most attention is right tackle Abe Lucas not practicing. It does not sound like a setback based on offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb’s comments, as he anticipates Lucas being able to play the full game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
“Yeah, I think he is,” Grubb said when asked about Lucas handling all of the snaps. “I think we’re going to let him go out there and eat and see what he can do.
The real concern is defensive end Leonard Williams, who’s now missed consecutive practices with a foot injury. He’s already missed a game this season with a rib injury suffered against the Miami Dolphins.
Many of the DNPs from Wednesday practiced on Thursday, including tight end Noah Fant (groin) and punt returner (Dee Williams) in a limited capacity. The likes of Tyler Lockett, Jarran Reed, Laken Tomlinson, and Johnathan Hankins rested to start the week and were full participants. Signs point toward safety Rayshawn Jenkins returning to the lineup after missing the last four games with a hand injury.
