Monday it was Leonard Williams getting his Pro Bowl snub corrected, and Tuesday Jaxon Smith-Njigba learned he is also on his way to Orlando.
The offense of the Seattle Seahawks certainly had its ups and downs over the course of the 2024 season under former offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. However, one of the bright spots of the group throughout the year was the ability of the team to successfully execute in the screen game, particularly to second year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

JSN certainly did far more than catch screen passes on his way to tying Tyler Lockett’s franchise record for receptions in a season with 100, but it was refreshing to see a dangerous screen game from the Seattle offense.

This next play is a great example of Anthony Bradford getting out in space and waylaying a defender so hard he nearly took out Stone Forsythe’s knees in the process, while on the back side Damien Lewis just tries to bear hug the rusher coming at him.
It’s nice to see a screen work with multiple blockers out in front and Jaxon Smith-Njigba not getting smacked right after the catch, allowing him to turn reception into 19-yard gain. pic.twitter.com/fMRfPTs103

Now hold up just one second. Lewis wasn’t on the Seahawks in 2024, so that must have been a screen to JSN called by Shane Waldron during the 2023 season.
In any case, the Hawks announced Tuesday that Smith-Njigba is on his way to Orlando to join teammates Leonard Williams and Devon Witherspoon in representing the NFC at the Pro Bowl Games. JSN’s will be making the trip after Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin opted out due to injury.

Unfortunately for JSN because he is heading to Orlando as a alternate rather than having made it on the original ballot, the amount of his fifth year option tender will not be impacted, but he will have one more year to attempt to make the Pro Bowl on the original ballot.
