The last remaining player from Seattle’s 2021 draft class is out the door.
The Seattle Seahawks‘ offensive line just got better.
Fourth-year tackle Stone Forsythe has agreed to terms with the New York Giants, allowing for the Seahawks to look to upgrade on the right side of the offensive line.
Stone Forsythe off to the Giants. So you can put a wrap on Seattle’s 3-man 2021 draft class as Tre Brown is off to the 49ers and Dee Eskridge was waived last August. https://t.co/5LuRxPz1MW

After cornerback Tre Brown signed with the 49ers earlier today, Forsythe was the only remaining member of Seattle’s 2021 draft class, as wide receiver Dee Eskridge signed with the Dolphins upon being waived by the Seahawks last August. At long last, Seattle can finally move past that draft, which only served as a reminder of the fact that John Schneider traded away all but three of the team’s picks.
With Forsythe out, the Seahawks have an opportunity to improve the right side of the offensive line. As Field Gulls own Tyler Alsin wrote last week, 56.6% of the pressure Geno Smith faced during the 2024 season can be traced back to the right side of the line, with the right tackle position accounting for 32.1% of said pressures.
Evidently, the right tackle position was a weakness for Seattle, with Forsythe, George Fant, and Mike Jerrell splitting playing time while Abe Lucas was injured. Now that Forsythe is gone, though, there will hopefully be a bit more stability at right tackle provided everyone stays healthy. Here’s to hoping for better protection for Sam Darnold in 2025!
