Seattle won’t make the playoffs in Mike Macdonald’s inaugural season but that doesn’t mean the team’s future is in poor hands.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
Well, we’ve made it to the final week of the 2024 season. Unfortunately, the Seattle Seahawks game vs the Los Angeles Rams has no playoff implications. There’s only one question in this week’s poll…how are fans feeling about the team’s direction after coming up just short in their playoff push?
Nice, I guess? That’s up from 56% the previous week.
It really depends on your point of view whether or not this season was a success. Personally, they’re right where I expected them to be, hovering around .500 with some definite strides made on the defensive side of the ball.
What I didn’t expect, however, was the “struggle bus” offense in Ryan Grubb’s first season that was beyond frustrating at times. First, they couldn’t run the ball. And then, seemingly, they wouldn’t run the ball. Serious questions abound concerning the offense and Grubb’s future in Seattle. That, in itself, validates the mediocre fan confidence results.
Yet, that’s a question for another day. Seattle has one more game to go for this season and I would love nothing more than a beatdown of McVay and his Rams in the final week of the regular season. I don’t care if he’s sitting half of his starters. This is the last opportunity to see this version of the Seattle Seahawks play together and I hope they take advantage of it by beating the tar out of their division rivals.
FTR forever!
