Optimism is still fairly strong after a 10-7 season, albeit with no playoffs for the Seahawks.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
Our final Seahawks Reacts survey is complete. As a non-playoff team, we only get to do the confidence poll. Respondents began the year with 95% confidence the Seahawks were heading in the right direction. Where are we after a 10-7 season but no playoffs? Still pretty strong at 83%.
The low point in the confidence polling was 41%, which saw the Seahawks drop to 4-5 entering the bye week following a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams. In terms of the highest confidence mark in-season, that came after Seattle was 8-5 following a sweep of the Arizona Cardinals.
For curious observers, the lowest end-of-season percentages in the confidence question belong to the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts, both of whom are at 5%. The lowest I’ve seen any team is the Cowboys at 2% somewhere in midseason. The San Francisco 49ers didn’t do a poll this week but were at 41% entering the season finale, in case you’re wondering.
Lastly, while this was not part of the Reacts survey, our poll for the Seahawks’ decision to fire offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has closed. With just under 5,500 votes, it appears clear to me that fans believe Grubb’s firing was the right call.
We’ll bring Reacts back periodically throughout the offseason. Thanks to everyone who participated!
