A couple of hours after the Seattle Seahawks announced that Pete Carroll won’t be their head coach anymore, Russell Wilson offered his thoughts on this shocking move.
As you’d expect, Wilson had nothing but great things to say about his former coach.
“One of the Greatest Ever. ‘Keep Shooting’ Coach,” Wilson wrote. “Grateful for the memories. @PeteCarroll Best is Ahead.”
That’s a classy message from Wilson, who was traded by the Seahawks during the 2022 offseason.

Carroll and Wilson shared some great memories together in Seattle, but none greater than winning a Super Bowl on Feb. 2, 2014.
So, what’s next for Carroll? He’s expected to take on an advisory role with the Seahawks.
“After thoughtful meetings and careful consideration for the best interest of the franchise, we have amicably agreed with Pete Carroll that his role will evolve from Head Coach to remain with the organization as an advisor,” Seahawks owner Jody Allen said. “Pete is the winningest coach in Seahawks history, brought the city its first Super Bowl title, and created a tremendous impact over the past 14 years on the field and in the community.”
