The Texans have fired Bobby Slowik, who interviewed with the Seahawks as part of the search for a new head coach a year ago, and whose father worked with John Schneider in Green Bay.
The offensive coordinator search for the Seattle Seahawks continues to trudge along as the NFL coaching carousel spins at full speed.
Earlier Friday reports emerged that the Las Vegas Raiders were set to hire former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who spent the 2024 season not coaching after being let go by Seattle. Carroll was, of course, replaced as head coach of the Hawks by Mike Macdonald, but not before John Schneider interviewed several other candidates, including Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
Now, barely a year removed from interviewing for head coaching roles, Slowik and Texans offensive line coach Chris Strausser have reportedly been fired by Houston.
Seahawks interviewed Slowik last offseason for their head coach position.
Curious whether they’d now have interest as an OC. https://t.co/tf6h0lNdtJ

Whether the Seahawks would have interest in Slowik for their own offensive coordinator role after the struggles of the Texans offense at times during the 2024 season remains to be seen. With that in mind, though, given that Schneider interviewed him for the head coach opening last offseason, it wouldn’t be surprise if an interview did happen.
In addition, as Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times noted on social media, Schneider has past ties with Slowik, or at least with another Slowik.
Worth recalling that Slowik’s father, Bob, was an assistant coach with the Packers while Seahawks GM John Schneider was on the staff there. So there is some personal connection.

Now all there is to do is wait. And speculate.
