The Titans interviewed Berry, Seattle’s senior director of player personnel, last week.
For now, it looks as if one of the Seattle Seahawks’ notable front office executives is staying put.
Matt Berry, the Seahawks’ senior director of player personnel, was not among the finalists for the Tennessee Titans general manager position. Tennessee requested an interview with Berry last week, having fired previous GM Ran Carthon after an expensive offseason netted them the league’s worst record and No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
#Titans list of GM candidates that made it to the 2nd round:
Bills Dir. Player Personnel Terrance Gray
Bears Asst GM Ian Cunningham
Buccaneers Asst GM John Skytek
Chiefs Asst GM Mike Borgonzi
Colts Asst GM Ed Dodds
Packers VP of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan— TURRON DAVENPORT (@TDavenport_NFL) January 13, 2025
Berry has been with the Seahawks since the Mike Holmgren era, serving initially as a regional scout. He was promoted from college scouting director to Senior Director of Player Personnel two seasons ago.
There is a former Seahawk on that reported list of Titans GM candidates. Ed Dodds, a longtime stout and senior personnel executive for the Seahawks from 2007-2016, has been with the Indianapolis Colts since 2017 and is currently the assistant general manager.
The most recent instance of a Seahawks executive leaving for a general manager position is Scott Fitterer, who left his role as Vice President of Football Operations to be the very doomed general manager of the Carolina Panthers back in 2021. He’s now a personnel executive on the Washington Commanders, which certainly has no shortage of former Seahawks across their coaching and executive ranks.
