Nick Perry’s stint in Seattle looks to be a short one.
There’s another change coming to the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff.
College football insider Matt Zenitz reported on Friday that defensive quality control coach Nick Perry is leaving the NFL for the college ranks. He’s expected to return to the SEC and serve as defensive backs coach for the University of Arkansas. Perry previously played for the University of Alabama and eventually spent a couple of seasons as a graduate assistant and defensive analyst under Nick Saban.
In his four seasons as an NFL coach, Perry was assistant defensive backs and assistant wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons before he was hired by Seattle in 2024. Assuming Perry does get the Arkansas job, this will be his first time as a lead positional coach either at the collegiate or professional level.
Seattle has moved on from offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, whose next job could very well be back in college football. Offensive assistant/quality control coach Zak Hill has already been announced as Boise State’s pass game coordinator.
