In a nice tribute to the organization that claimed the star receiver in the second round, Metcalf has said his farewell to the team and fans, bringing closure to his tenure in Seattle.
This week, the Seattle Seahawks parted ways with their receivers ranked second and sixth all-time in receiving yards.
While Tyler Lockett’s future remains undetermined, DK Metcalf wrote his farewell post late Wednesday, putting the bow on what was a prolific and compelling six-year career in Seattle.

Metcalf wrote to the staff, his teammates, and the longest portion of his post was to the 12s.
Words can’t express how much I appreciate the way you embraced me from day one. It’s never easy to say goodbye, and leaving this city that took a chance on me 6 years ago is tough…No matter where I go, I’ll always carry the 206 with me.
Metcalf finishes his time with the Seahawks 6,324 yards and 48 TDs, the third-longest touchdown in Seattle history (84 yards) and probably the longest one of these ever:

Besides that play, my favorite football memory of DK Metcalf was the game-winning touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams while wearing a Jalen Ramsey backpack.
DK Metcalf has 3 game-winning TD catches: 2020 vs DAL and MIN, and today versus the Rams. On this one, he bests Jalen Ramsey, LA’s top cover guy.

My favorite Metcalf football-adjacent play was when he somehow discovered it is legal to Darth Vader choke-block dudes on run plays.
DK with the single-arm Vader choke as he watches Walker score got me CRYING https://t.co/Dog3LUFXj1

As always with these things, the goodbye is not a requirement, but sure appreciated and simultaneously makes the whole thing feel more real. As I’ve said before, in agreement with guys like Jacson Bevens and others, I can’t predict if the Seahawks will be any better or worse next season, but for the moment they are much less cool.
