The Seattle Seahawks have their new offensive coordinator. Was he a good hire?
After a three-week search for their next offensive coordinator to replace Ryan Grubb, the Seattle Seahawks have their guy.
Klint Kubiak was one of the early candidates in Seattle’s interview process and now he’s the third OC in as many seasons for the Seahawks. The former New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator is the son of Super Bowl champion head coach and quarterback Gary Kubiak, who’s known for his outside zone run-blocking scheme and use of play-action. Klint is not a carbon copy of his father but the principles of a Gary Kubiak offense are based heavily off of Mike Shanahan’s offenses in Denver.
Did the Seahawks make the right move by hiring Kubiak? I suppose there’s no way to find out until the season starts, but there’s nothing stopping you from sharing your opinion in the comments section about your gut feelings of his arrival.
Once again, yours truly joined hosts Bryce Coutts and Ryan McMillan on the latest “Pulse of the ‘Hawks” segment on the HawksZone Rundown podcast. We didn’t spend our entire time just on Kubiak; there was some discussion about Seahawks salary cap moves and other questions the listeners had during Monday night’s live stream! There are accompanying timestamps so you can jump around:
