While Pete Carroll may be the same age as recently-retired Alabama head coach Nick Saban, he doesn’t seem intent on retiring just yet.
In a recent interview, Carroll made it clear that he feels that he still has the energy to continue coaching. But he admitted that he doesn’t know if he’ll find the right coaching spot to take right now.
“I don’t know. I’ve got plenty of energy for it and thought and willingness but I can’t imagine that there’s a place that’s the right one. I don’t know. I’m open to everything but I’m not holding my breath on that,” Carroll said, via Maura Dooley of Seattle Sports.
The Seahawks dismissed Carroll in a rather surprising move despite having a winning record this past year and reaching the playoffs the year before.
Pete Carroll on @SeattleSports Will he coach again?

The energy comment is the remark that differentiates him from the similarly-aged Saban. The now-former Alabama head coach recently admitted that he’s been losing some of the energy he’s had for years, hence his desire to retire now.
There should be plenty of options for Carroll both in the NFL and in college if that’s something he’s interested in.
Where do you think Carroll will wind up next?
