Music icon Beyonce has been an inspiration for many people through her decades in entertainment. But of all the people she’s inspired, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has to be one of the most interesting stories.
Appearing on The Pivot, Wagner revealed that he got inspired to work harder on his football craft earlier in his playing career from watching a Beyonce concert. He explained that seeing all of the dancers and performers put on the show with so much discipline and precision was awe-inspiring for him.
“Honestly, if I’m being honest, it was a Beyonce show that I went to… I went to a Beyonce show and I watched her perform, and I saw all the costumes that she changed and I watched all the dancers that she had… and when I saw her perform I walked away and I said, ‘I’m not working hard enough at my craft.’ And I was just like, ‘I need to work harder because what she’s doing is insane.'”
Wagner didn’t specify when this change to his mentality changed, but he’s been one of the league’s most dominant linebackers for the past decade.
Bobby Wagner was recently voted to his ninth Pro Bowl in 10 years and was voted to his 10th straight All-Pro team. He led the league in tackles this season with a career-high 183 of them.
Do you think other players have reached their heights because of Beyonce?
