After two straight division wins, Seattle will at least be tied for the best record in the NFC West.
It seems like forever since the Seattle Seahawks won at Lumen Field.
No matter, they defeated the NFC West division leading Arizona Cardinals 16-6 behind another inspired performance by the defense, complete with a pick-six by Coby Bryant. ‘Big Cat’ Leonard Williams also had himself one hell of a game with 2.5 sacks. You love to see it!
The offense, particularly the running game, is still leaving quite a bit to be desired. At this point, that’s probably how it will be the rest of the season barring some unexpected breakthrough. Looks like they’ll have to lean on the potent passing game and the defense that seems to be hitting their stride.
A two-game winning streak will do great things for your chances at winning the division as Seattle has (+175) odds to win the division according to FanDuel, an increase from (+450) prior to kickoff. Arizona still has the top odds at +150.
In the same vein, Seattle’s odds just to make the playoffs went from (+310) during pregame to (+142) with the win.
Up next for the Seahawks is a road trip to the Big Apple to face the New York Jets who have had a very turbulent (pun intended) season. It’s not a conference matchup but is still important for the overall playoff picture in which the Seahawks can’t afford to drop a game – especially to a troubled team. Pending the outcome of the Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, Seattle will be tied with the best record in the NFC West – though LA would hold the tiebreaker. The Seahawks open as 1.5-point favorites against Aaron Rodgers and company.
Things are looking up in the playoff standings…on to the next!
