Six years ago Demarcus Lawrence played a key role in the Seahawks trading Frank Clark to the Chiefs, and now Lawrence adds a veteran pass rusher to the fold.
Six years ago this spring, the Seattle Seahawks traded Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs for a pair of draft picks after Demarcus Lawrence had reset the edge rusher market higher than Seattle was willing to go.
John Schneider and Pete Carroll then turned around and use those picks to add L.J. Collier in the 2019 NFL Draft and Damien Lewis in 2020, both of whom have long since departed after their rookie contracts expired.
However, according to a report Wednesday afternoon from NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Hawks are set to add the soon-to-be 33 year old edge rusher to the mix on defense.

Lawrence started the 2024 season on a tear, recording 3.0 sacks in the first four games before a foot injury, reported to be a Lisfranc injury, ended his season early. With a pair of double digit sack seasons on his resume, he should be able to help mentor Boye Mafe and Derrick Hall, but how much Lawrence will have left in the tank after having recorded only 13.0 sacks over the past three seasons combined remains to be seen.
