Smith and the Raiders have reportedly reached agreement on a contract extension that runs through 2027,
It’s been an offseason to remember for the Seattle Seahawks, with a whole lot of changes at key positions on the offensive side of the ball.
Gone are quarterback Geno Smith, along with two of the top receiving targets on the team in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Lockett remains a free agent, while Metcalf has a huge new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and according to a report Thursday afternoon, Smith will soon have a new contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, keeping him with former Seattle head coach Pete Carroll for the foreseeable future.
To be clear, it’s a two-year, $75 million extension worth up to $85.5 million for Geno Smith, who now cashes in in Las Vegas. https://t.co/K8Vuoyq2Iw

The two-year, $75M extension means that Geno is under contract with the Raiders for the next three seasons at a total of $106M, with incentives in the contract that give Geno the opportunity to earn an additional $10.5M.
So, for those curious about the difference in what Sam Darnold will earn from the Seahawks and what Geno Smith will make from the Raiders, that answer is now known.
Geno Smith is under contract with the Raiders for three years, $106M.
Sam Darnold’s contract with the Seahawks is for three years, $105M, for those wondering.
