Kiper has the Seahawks investing in the trenches at No. 18 overall.
It’s that time of year where the early mock drafts start percolating! ESPN’s longtime draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr has released his first mock for 2025, and I’m sure you’re eager as can be to see what he predicted for the Seattle Seahawks.
If you’re expecting a quarterback then forget it. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders were his only first-round selections and they went in the top three. A troll pick of Boise State star running back Ashton Jeanty? Nope. What about wide receiver with the likes of Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan or Missouri’s Luther Burden III? You’re getting a little warmer on that front if you were thinking about Burden.
He may not be one of the star names of the projected first rounders, but Missouri’s other top offensive player is someone who could help the Seahawks’ offensive line. Here’s Kiper’s rationale for Seattle taking Armand Membou.
Armand Membou, OT/G, Missouri
Membou can play tackle or guard, but Seattle will be fixating on the interior. Maybe Membou could replace free agent Laken Tomlinson at left guard, while providing insurance for oft-injured right tackle Abraham Lucas? He’s very good in pass protection and shows some pop at the point of attack. And he’s experienced, with more than 2,000 career snaps.
Membou is just 20 years old who declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season. He was second-team All-SEC in a conference filled with NFL caliber offensive linemen. While Membous was recruited out of high school as one of the nation’s top guards, all but one of Membou’s snaps came at right tackle, while his lone non-RT snap was at left guard. Membou did not allow a sack in his 2024 season and only gave up nine hurries in 12 games.
Listed at 6’3 and about 320 pounds, Membou’s versatility certainly intrigues; keep in mind that Abe Lucas’ contract is up after next season. If the Seahawks were to draft him—it’s January, take these mock drafts with several pinches of salt—I’d anticipate a move to guard, where there are more question marks on both sides of the line and a likely vacancy at left guard.
Buckle up, because we’re going mock draft crazy over the next three months.
