The Seahawks safety practiced for three weeks while on IR, which is where he’ll stay through the end of the season.
The Seattle Seahawks aren’t going to the playoffs, which may or may not have influenced their recent roster decision ahead of their Week 18 finale against the Los Angeles Rams.
Reserve safety K’Von Wallace has reverted to season-ending injured reserve after his 21-day practice window expired. Wallace and cornerback Artie Burns were designated for return to practice while on injured reserve on Dec. 11, which meant they both had to be activated onto the 53-man roster by Jan. 1. Burns was activated before getting waived and put on the practice squad, whereas I think you’ve figured out Wallace’s situation by now.
Wallace signed as a free agent on a one-year deal after spending the 2023 season with the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans. He suffered an ankle injury in the Week 9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, which led to his IR stint. Wallace was a full participant in every practice during his 21-day window, but the Seahawks consistently ruled him out instead of make a roster move to put him on the team during the home stretch of their ultimately unsuccessful postseason push.
In nine games played, Wallace recorded 15 tackles and a forced fumble while splitting his snaps between defense and special teams. Wallace’s absence (and Rayshawn Jenkins’) arguably led to the rise of Coby Bryant into the starting lineup.
