The outcome of the game won’t have any impact on the standings, but it will impact the Seahawks 2024 cap space.
The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams are set to conclude the 2024 NFL regular season when they face off in a Week 18 showdown at SoFi Stadium that will carry no meaning in the NFC West standings.
The Rams have the division title locked up, thanks to holding the strength of victory tiebreaker over Seattle, and thanks to the Week 9 overtime victory when the two teams faced off at Lumen Field.
Some Seattle fans had hoped that the Hawks would give either Sam Howell or Jaren Hall some snaps in this game, in order to evaluate what the team has in each player, as starter Geno Smith has up to $6M of incentives riding on his performance Sunday. However, head coach Mike Macdonald noted earlier in the week that that was not in the plans. And now, with the inactives having been announced, it is indeed the case, with Hall again set to act as the emergency third quarterback as the 49th player dressed.
