There’s more than one way to watch the Seahawks vs. Bears on Thursday Night Football!
The Seattle Seahawks (8-7) are still alive in the playoff hunt, but after consecutive losses to the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, their chances of winning the NFC West are looking unlikely. With their home schedule wrapped up, the Seahawks will end their regular season with a pair of road games, starting with a Thursday Night Football showdown against the Chicago Bears (4-11).
This looked like an intriguing matchup on paper when the schedule was released in May, particularly from the angle of former Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron working alongside rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Well, we’ll be seeing Williams against an improved Seahawks defense, but neither Waldron nor head coach Matt Eberflus will be there.
Just two months ago, the Seahawks were 3-3 and the Bears were 4-2. Seattle has had a rollercoaster of a season, whereas Chicago has lost nine in a row. On paper, this seems like a favorable matchup for the Seahawks, but we know it’s not that easy. For the fifth time this season, there will be no Kenneth Walker III available due to injury, and Geno Smith is still dealing with a knee injury suffered against the Green Bay Packers.
The Seahawks could be eliminated in Week 17 even if they beat the Chicago Bears, but the least they could do is assure themselves a winning season under rookie head coach Mike Macdonald and not be the Bears’ streak-busting victim.
