Seattle leads the entire NFL in draft picks in the top 100.
Do you like draft picks? Because the Seattle Seahawks are not just slated to have a lot of them at next month’s NFL Draft, half of them will be in the top 100 of the draft order.
The DK Metcalf and Geno Smith trades have netted Seattle extra second- and third-round picks, respectively. In the Metcalf trade, they swapped a sixth-rounder to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a seventh-rounder. While we don’t know which of the two sixth-rounders is going to Pittsburgh, it’s more likely than not it’s the one they got from last season’s Darrell Taylor trade with the Chicago Bears. The projected comp pick for Bobby Wagner hasn’t actually been awarded, so you can’t trade what you don’t have. It should be awarded this week, so we’ll see how it shakes out on Wednesday.

Round 2: 2 picks (No. 50 – native, No. 52 via Steelers after DK Metcalf trade)

Round 5: Projected 1 pick (projected comp pick for Jordyn Brooks)

You know how many other teams have five picks in the top 100 of this year’s draft? The correct answer (at least for now, it’s been a wild several days) is zero.
After the Geno and DK trades, the Seahawks are the only team with five picks in the top-100 in the NFL Draft, and are one of three teams with two picks in the second round (BUFF and CHI). Seattle is also one of seven teams with at least four top-100 selections.
