Pete Carroll to Las Vegas rumors are heating up, and the Seahawks and Raiders are set to play in 2026.
As the coaching carousel turns, so do the non-stop rumors about possible landing spots for coaching candidates. One of the names that hot in the rumor-mill is that of Pete Carroll returning to the NFL with Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders. Do a quick google search of Pete Carroll, and all you see is reports connecting Carroll to the Raiders.
The #Raiders shot their shot at Ben Johnson and missed, so what now?@VicTafur and I break down the alternative options at head coach, along with what it means for the general manager search ⤵️ https://t.co/gEYf6YyZEH

The Raiders just hired their new general manager, John Spytek, formerly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In addition to that news, two head coaching candidates the Raiders had been eyeing have both agreed to terms with other teams, Ben Johnson with the Chicago Bears, and Aaron Glenn with the New York Jets. Additionally, Liam Coen has just taken his name out of the consideration for a head coaching job this year. Who does that leave as options for the Raiders? The aforementioned Carroll, as well as Ron Rivera, Robert Saleh, and Vance Joseph have all interviewed with Las Vegas (Todd Monken has been rumored to the Raiders as well.)
With the many front runners (Johnson, Glenn, Coen) no longer available and the myriad rumors of Carroll to the Raiders flying around, it may be time to read the writing on the wall: that Pete Carroll could be returning to the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders.
If Pete Carroll gets the Raiders job, when do the Raiders play the Seahawks?
You may be asking, what on earth does this have to do with the Seattle Seahawks? Well looking into the distant future, the Seahawks play at Las Vegas in 2026. This could mean, if Carroll to the Raiders does happen, the Seahawks could be playing against their former head coach in less than two years. Other items to take into consideration, would Carroll try to target any former Seahawk coaches or players? Nate Carroll (Pete’s son) was just let go by the Carolina Panthers as pass-game coordinator, could he join his dad in Las Vegas? Russell Wilson is expected to hit the open market this offseason, and the Raiders have a hole a quarterback … Geno Smith and the Seahawks are likely going to have extension talks this offseason, could Carroll and the Raiders possibly try to trade for Smith? …. Could Tyler Lockett, who is expected to leave Seattle this offseason, find his way to the black and silver?
There is still a lot that needs to happen (i.e., Carroll actually getting hired), however if and when (?) that happens, get ready for the Seattle to Las Vegas rumor mill to heat up very quick.
