Seattle added depth to the quarterback room by bringing back Lock after he spent 2024 in New York, and the Seahawks aren’t paying a whole lot for that depth.
It’s been a busy offseason for the Seattle Seahawks at the quarterback position.
First the team agreed to trade former second round pick Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he’d be reunited with former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Then, on the heels of that move, John Schneider broke out the checkbook to sign former first round pick Sam Darnold away from the Minnesota Vikings.
Then, to add depth and competition at the backup spot, Seattle reached agreement with former second round pick Drew Lock to return to the Pacific Northwest, this time to play for Mike Macdonald rather than Carroll.
Now, after the Lock signing was made official, the terms of his contract with Seattle have been published by OverTheCap.com, it’s a not a huge contract by any means.
Drew Lock’s #seahawks contract has been filed with the NFLPA and picked up by OTC.
Net cap hit of $1.22m this year.
No guaranteed salary or other perks in 2026. Great deal for the team, as Lock made $5m last year with the Giants. pic.twitter.com/g8Fn3S6ZI7

As noted in the graphic, his cap hit will be $2.25M in 2025 and $2.75M in 2026, though the team could opt to move on after 2025 with just $500k in dead cap in 2026 and would not owe him anything for 2026.
