The Seattle Seahawks have released their Week 12 game captains, and birthday boy (Nov. 22nd) Ernest Jones IV is among them. The team went with only three captains this week – as they did last week – with Geno Smith and Chris Stoll joining Ernest Jones IV for the coin toss.

Coach Mike Macdonald seems to enjoy rewarding players for excellent work, so it should be no surprise that Ernest Jones was selected this week. Since joining the Seahawks for their October 27th contest against the Buffalo Bills, Jones has had 37 combined tackles with 18 assists. And he’s helped the Seahawks become much more disruptive against the run so far than his predecessor. Hopefully, he’s as motivated at the age of 25 as he was at 24.
Geno Smith is named captain for the third time this year after coming off an excellent game-winning drive in the final seconds of the 4th quarter on the road against the 49ers. He scrambled twice during the Seahawks’ final drive – first to move the chains and the second for the game-winning touchdown. Oh, and he hit DK Metcalf, Kenneth Walker, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba before that.
Long snapper Chris Stoll rounds out the captains this week. Chris Stoll signed on with the Seattle Seahawks as an UDFA in 2023. He went to Penn State and has no connection to Arizona, as far as I can tell? Your guess as to why he was named a captain is as good as mine. Perhaps he’s just a good dude who hasn’t botched any snaps. Kudos, Chris Stoll.
The Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals kicks off at Lumen Field at 1:25 PM PT. If you’re going, bring a rain jacket. It’s gonna be wet.
