Drew Lock pulled off a career-defining moment when leading the Seattle Seahawks to a dramatic Monday Night Football win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Starting for the second straight week in place of Geno Smith, Lock engineered a 92-yard drive with less than two minutes remaining. A 29-yard touchdown pass to rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba cemented a 20-17 victory at Lumen Field.
After the game, Lock appeared to be looking for Jalen Hurts on the field. At least that’s what viewers are assuming because Lock said, “I guess he’s sick.”

Despite coming down with an illness over the weekend, Hurts suited up Monday night. The Eagles probably should have told him to stay home and rest.
While Hurts ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns, he completed 17 of 31 passes for 143 yards and two interceptions. The 25-year-old posted his lowest quarterback rating (40.1) in a start since throwing three picks on Nov. 28, 2021.
Hurts flew into Seattle on a separate plane to avoid spreading his illness to teammates. Although he got close to everyone when running the Tush Push, it’s reasonable to figure he didn’t want to shake hands and get others sick.
Last year’s MVP runner-up also probably wasn’t in the best mood following Philadelphia’s third straight loss. Hurts has completed 59.2 percent of his passes for 638 yards and one touchdown in those defeats.
On the other hand, Lock may have saved Seattle’s season.
Instead of falling to 6-8 with their fifth consecutive loss, the 7-7 Seahawks are in a four-way tie for two wild-card spots with three weeks remaining.
A brutal schedule finally eases up when the Seahawks close their season against the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Arizona Cardinals. Following another solid showing from Lock, Seattle’s hopes may not entirely rely on Smith returning.
