It’s as much of a tradition as the Pro Bowl itself: Pro Bowl roster replacements. We’re going to see a lot of those in the days leading up to Sunday’s Pro Bowl Games but today we saw two star quarterbacks withdraw from the competition.
On Tuesday, the NFL announced that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford are both being replaced. Taking their place will be Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Stafford and Prescott both led their teams to the playoffs in 2023, though both players also suffered first-round exits as well.
Mayfield is making his first Pro Bowl after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the playoffs in his first year with the team, setting career-highs in passing along the way.
Smith went 8-7 as a starter this past season and had another superb year after making his first Pro Bowl and winning Comeback Player of the Year in 2022.

In total, 22 players have already been added as alternates and that number is likely going to rise in the hours and days to come.
Are there any players that you feel are deserving of making the Pro Bowl that still won’t get in as alternates?
