Teams that did not make the postseason dissolved their practice squads Monday morning, making players who had not signed a future contract with the team free agents. One Seahawk wasted no time finding a new home.
The 2024 season of the Seattle Seahawks came to a close more than a week ago, and the Hawks wasted no time making changes, moving on from offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb the day after the season ended.
Then, on Monday morning the contracts of practice squad players for the teams that failed to make the postseason expired, making free agents of the Seahawks practice squad members who did not sign a future contract with the team last week. Given the newfound freedom, at least one former Seattle practice squad member wasted no time finding a new home.

McClendon Curtis spent the past two seasons with the Seahawks after originally signing with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2023, but failing to make the 53 man roster out of training camp. The Hawks poached him off the practice squad of the Raiders early in the 2023 season following injuries to Charles Cross and Abe Lucas, and he spent the remainder of the season on the active roster, but did not make it on to the field, except for a handful of special teams snaps.
Then, during the summer of 2024 training camp reports had Curtis excelling at guard and competing at right tackle, but he failed to stay on the 53 many roster and was waived at the end of training camp before signing with the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster for three weeks in late September before being waived a second time and spending the remainder of the season on the practice squad. Once again, Curtis did not see the field for any offensive snaps during the season, in spite of the injury issues and performance struggles at both right tackle and right guard over the course of the season, and now he is off to Arizona to see if he can potentially make it onto the 53 man roster of the Cardinals in 2025.
