Barring a contract extension being reached sometime in the next few weeks, Dak Prescott will released in 2025 and become a free agent. But what does the market look like for the Dallas Cowboys quarterback right now?
According to Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report, there are five teams that stand out as potential suitors for Dak in 2025. The teams Moton identified are the Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants.
Just about all of those teams are at a bit of a crossroads as far as the quarterback position goes. The Steelers, Raiders, Titans and Giants have far more questions than answers at quarterback, while the Seahawks might not be certain about their own starter beyond 2024.
It’s hard to argue that Dak wouldn’t be an upgrade over the likes of Daniel Jones, Geno Smith, Gardner Minshew, Will Levis and Russell Wilson right now – or a year from now.
There are other teams that could be in the market for a quarterback in 2025 too. The New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams could also be in play if either Aaron Rodgers or Matthew Stafford retire at the end of next season.
As for the money at play, with Trevor Lawrence getting his extension yesterday, Dak Prescott is going to command an annual salary somewhere in the high-50 or low-60 millions.
Win or lose in 2024, Dak Prescott is primed to win big in 2025.
