The Seahawks sit at 18th and can’t move much higher than that based on the NFL standings.
With the Seattle Seahawks now out of postseason contention, you might be wondering where Seattle sits in the 2025 NFL Draft order, as well as how they can, ahem, “improve” their draft status by basically not making any real attempt to win in Week 18.
Well, for those of you eager to turn a mid-first-round pick into something better than a mid-first-round pick, prepare to be disappointed. Otherwise, proceed with your curiosity!
As of the end of Sunday, the Seahawks find themselves at No. 18 overall as the only team with a winning record not in a postseason spot. Bad luck!
If the Seahawks tie or beat the Los Angeles Rams then they will be picking at No. 18 overall, which is as high as you can go without making the playoffs. The worst Seattle can finish is 9-8, which means the Seahawks could theoretically pick at No. 15. However, the main tiebreaker in the NFL Draft is strength of schedule, in which case teams with the easier SOS would get the upper hand in the draft pecking order. Seattle sits at .506 and it will improve by playing the 10-6 Rams, whereas the Dolphins have a weak SOS and will play the New York Jets in Week 18. Unless Miami makes the playoffs (which is possible), Seattle won’t win a tiebreaker against the Dolphins.
Last season the Seahawks were at No. 16 and stayed put to draft Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II. This is considered a weaker draft class beyond just the quarterback position, but we’re in December and we may have some interesting draft stock risers in the College Football Playoff and through the Senior Bowl and NFL combine in the weeks to come.
