Robbie Rouse was arrested on March 16th while driving on US 195 north of Colfax.
New Washington State running backs coach Robbie Rouse resigned abruptly this morning. In a statement, his resignation was due to what was described as “personal matters” and would be effective immediately.
Court records obtained through a public records request by CougCenter this afternoon show Rouse was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence more than a week ago.
Whitman County District Court documents show Rouse was booked for DUI while driving on US 195 just north of Colfax on March 16th just after 5 p.m. when he was initially pulled over for speeding. He was ordered released on his own recognizance the following day and has a preliminary hearing scheduled in Colfax for next Tuesday morning.
When contacted for further comment on the matter, a spokesperson for WSU referred to their earlier statement.
WSU has already replaced Rouse with Wyoming running backs coach Donnell Kirkwood, who himself had only been hired in Laramie this past January.
