Good morning, Coug fans!
Last night, the ESPN College Football Playoff 2024 Top 25 and brackets made their official debut, and your thumb doesn’t need to get too sore from scrolling down, as our very own Washington State Cougars landed the 18th spot!
This should not come as a great surprise if you’re logic brained, but that’s not who I am, so I’m taking this thrill and sprinting with it. If you’d like to check out the ESPN article, you can find it here.

The Cougs are on a heater, having their best season since 2018. Two straight weeks on the road awaits against the New Mexico Lobos, this Saturday 11/16 at 6:30pm West Coast time, and then down in Corvallis for the second annual Pac-2 Championship against Oregon State at 3:30pm.
The Lobos are 4-6 with wins over New Mexico State, Air Force, Utah State (twins except they won 50-45 and we won 49-28) and most recently against San Diego State (twins except they won 21-16 and we won 29-26). New Mexico also comes off a Friday game against SDSU, so they’ve had an extra day to relax and hopefully ignore all the game film acquired.
The narrative continues to be ‘search for 1-0 every week’ and to focus on what’s directly next- which is the philosophy I’m trying to follow but it’s really really hard when you’re this easily excited!!!
In the coming weeks we’ll look more into CFP shenanigans but in the meantime, let’s celebrate 18! Go Cougs!
