A new look featuring a balanced mix of the classic crimson and gray.
Fresh off their first bye week of the season, the Washington State Cougars get ready to travel down to Fresno to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday.
In that clash of future conference opponents, WSU revealed their uniform combo on Wednesday that features a never worn before uniform combination and introduced a new look for their white helmets.

White-white-gray itself is a combo WSU has surprisingly never tried out before. To go with the combo, WSU is trying a new facemask, logo, shell combo on their white helmets. Gray/anthracite logo with gray/anthracite facemask has been done before and is apart of the fan-favorite white-anthracite-white combo, but this time around WSU is rolling with the traditional crimson logo on the helmets. With a crimson font on the jerseys, the crimson logo ties the helmet with the numbers while the gray facemask helps make the gray pants not look out of place. I think this is a very well done combo that should look really good on field.
Now for the more important work, what can the stats tell us about this combo? Is the equipment staff setting this team up for success or failure?
For the new helmet; since 2017, the white shells are 10-10, the gray/athracite facemasks are 2-0 and the crimson logo is 17-10. Good start. The white jerseys are 15-24 which shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering they’ve only been worn on the road and the gray pants come in at a very solid 10-5. On the flip side, white-white-color is 0-4 with three losses in the cursed white-white-anthracite and one loss in white-white-crimson.
