When WSU originally rolled out their “Wazzu” script helmets in 2022, they opted to try and make the logo look like the classic Cougars script. But things changed last year when they went to a more italic and easier to read font they rolled out against Colorado on Senior Night last season. They decided to keep that same font this time around but with a white font and a gray outline.
As for the rest of the set, it’s the same as their first iteration of the crimson Wazzu helmets in 2022 vs Utah with a crimson jersey and anthracite pants. It marks the only time WSU has worn the crimson-crimson-anthracite combo.
This is also the first time WSU has rolled with the crimson shells for three straight weeks since wearing them for games 8-10 in 2015.
After back-to-back wins, the crimson shells now sit at 13-14 since 2017. The crimson jerseys will enter Friday nights contest with a record of 23-9 while the anthracite pants sit at 11-12.
