Back to anthracite for Palouse after dark.
Back in Pullman for the first time in three weeks, the Washington State Cougars get set to host the Utah State Aggies on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
With the game being at night, the Cougs have decided to go with their dark look, rolling with their refreshing anthracite jerseys paired with an all crimson lid and anthracite pants.

Since Jake Dickert announced the “phasing out” of the anthracite helmets, this seems to be the new go-to for an all-anthracite look. Swapping out the old anthracite helmet for the all-crimson one instead. This will be the sixth never-worn-before uniform set WSU has debuted this season.
Saturday will be the second time we get to see the new anthracite jerseys after debuting them against Texas Tech earlier this season.
Although WSU hasn’t worn the crimson-anthracite-anthracite uniform combo since the 2017 uniform refresh, they have worn it six times since introducing the anthracite jersey in 2011 and have an even 3-3 record. The last time WSU wore this combo was against Arizona State in 2015. It is worth noting that the crimson helmets had a white facemask in those six games as opposed to the crimson facemask WSU will wear this week.
The all-crimson helmet is 11-9 since debuting in 2016, and the anthracite pants are 13-12 since 2017, 3-0 this season.
