Can I get a PRO COUGS?!
Good evening, Coug fans!
As I’m sure you’re all aware, the 2024 NBA Draft was this past Wednesday and Thursday (June 26th and 27th), and two of our own Washington State Cougars hoped to hear their names called.
Jaylen Wells got the call from Memphis, and joins the Grizzlies! We couldn’t be prouder of him.
And last night, our dear Isaac Jones signed himself a nice two-way contract with the Kings.
Washington State’s Isaac Jones has agreed on a two-way deal with the Sacramento Kings, source tells ESPN.

I am especially excited for my friend Bryce, you guys know him, as he is a Kings fan. There’s nothing quite like one of your favorite college players being signed to your favorite pro team (yes, this is just an excuse for me to remind all of you about the brief time CJ Elleby was a Portland Trail Blazer and my life was awesome).
The NBA two-way contact was born in the 2017-18 season (according to Wikipedia), and was created to associate an NBA team with their G-League affiliate. In the Kings case, their G-League is the Stockton Kings! You can read more about them here. Let’s all agree to overlook the purple just this one time.
This contract is essentially an opportunity for Jones to audition for the big time. He could get the call, and is eligible to play in 50 of the 82 regular season games. This contract can also be converted to a regular contract, which is exciting!
If you want to read the Draft profile on Jones, you can find it here!
Congrats Isaac! We’re so proud of you. Go kill it in the league! Go Cougs.
